I GO A FISHIN

Verse 1:

I remember the days on the water so wide,

With my granddaddy's hand and a pole by my side.

But now I fish for a different kind of soul,

Casting the truth where the lost waves roll.

Chorus:

I go a fishin’, in the name of the Lord,

Throwin’ my net, standin’ on His Word.

Even when the waters look still and dry,

I trust in Jesus to draw them nigh.

Yes, I go a fishin’ — till He calls me home,

I won’t stop castin’, I’ll never fish alone.

Verse 2:

Some don’t know they’re driftin’ far from shore,

Tossed by the waves, feelin’ lost evermore.

But I’ve found the Anchor, the Savior, the Way,

And I’ll fish for the broken, the wandering stray.

Bridge:

It’s not my bait, but His mercy and grace,

Not by my strength, but His holy embrace.

I’m just a servant with a message to give,

That in Him alone, we’re called to live.

So if you see me out by the riverside,

Know I’m fishin’ with purpose, with heaven as my guide.

Souls are the catch, the Kingdom my quest,

I go a fishin’ — I give Him my best.

I go a fishin’… and I won’t stop now.

Till He comes again… I’ll keep showin’ how.
