Seizure of the Cyprus Brig in Recherche Bay (Flute and Piano)

A song/poem by convict poet, Frank MacNamara, about the escape from Macquarie Harbour, Tasmania (The Gates of Hell) to Recherche Bay, Tasmania in 1829.This song was popular among convicts of the time. MacNamara's lyrics have been reset to music by Fiona Hickie. This arrangement for flute and piano is a theme and variations, including a slow, classical version, a dance, a jazz waltz and march. This has been written to demonstrate performer versatility.
