Country Rose wrap PDF knitting pattern

The Country Rose is a romantic, feminine wrap which will gently surround you with warmth and make any outfit look gorgeous. If you have seen the Outlander series, you will recognise it as a classic body warmer which gave warmth without bulk and could be tied to fit any shape of body.

SKILL

advanced beginner (you just need to know the basics). This pattern includes written instructions, video assistance and has been test knitted.

MATERIALS

MC: Rowan Selects Patina 46% mohair, 24% nylon, 20% wool, 10% polyester. DK/ 8 ply. 50g = 250 metres

CC: Drops Delight 75% wool, 25% polyamide. Fingering / 4 ply. 50g = 175 metres

You can substitute other yarns as long as you have the same gauge as below. It is not so important to have gauge on the edging CC provided it is finer than the DK used as MC

GAUGE

20 sts x 30 rows / 10 cm (4 in) over 5 x 5 knit/purl st pattern

Needles: US 6 / 4 mm.

Notions: Stitch markers, darning needle, tape measure, st holder/spare needle, double pointed needles

CONSTRUCTION

It is worked bottom up, and features gentle increases in order to create the back panel and wings. It wraps over the chest and has ties which thread through a flap, ensuring a snug fit and pleasing silhouette.
