Petition to Establish Paternity, Parental Responsibility, Timesharing, Child Support, and Related Issues

If you're a parent navigating the legal process of establishing your parental rights and responsibilities, this service is designed to guide you. Whether you’re seeking legal recognition as a parent, need to establish a timesharing schedule, or want to ensure child support is properly addressed, I’m here to help draft the appropriate documents to move your case forward confidently.

This service is ideal for those looking to establish paternity and address parenting and financial matters involving minor children—without hiring an attorney to formally appear in court.

Divorce Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated

Let’s keep it simple, respectful, and legally sound. This petition is designed for couples with no kids, no assets, and a shared desire to move forward.

What This Service Covers

With over 30 years of family law experience, I help self-represented litigants prepare documents tailored to their case. This specific service may include:

  • Petition to Establish Paternity
  • Parenting Plan (Timesharing & Parental Responsibility)
  • Child Support Guidelines Worksheet (if applicable)
  • Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) Affidavit
  • Child-related court documents needed to initiate or respond to a case

You’ll schedule a brief phone consultation so I can learn about your situation and provide an estimated time and cost. All documents are prepared at $350/hour, and no work begins until you approve.

Before Your Session...

To make the most of your consultation, please be ready to share:

  • Your relationship and parenting history
  • Any current informal or court orders regarding the child
  • What you’re hoping to achieve (paternity, timesharing plan, etc.)
  • Whether there is agreement or disagreement with the other parent
  • Your current income (and theirs, if known)

This helps us move efficiently and focus on the most important issues first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this the same as hiring an attorney to go to court with me?

No. This is a document preparation and legal coaching service. I do not represent you in court or file a Notice of Appearance.

Q: Do both parents need to be involved to use this service?

Not necessarily. You can file a petition on your own. If both parties are cooperative, we may be able to prepare joint or uncontested forms.

Q: What happens after the documents are prepared?

Once complete, you will receive your documents ready to print and file. I’ll guide you on next steps during the consultation.
