Surrey Flow Scarf
Surrey Flow Scarf
So this year the usual cast on of a scarf for my very knitworthy husband loomed on the Christmas knitting to do list, and he had always wanted me to make him something with the knit & purl patterning featured in my Surrey Avenue Shawl, so that seemed like the obvious idea to run with…And this was the result, a very simple, beginner friendly, just knitting and purling, same stitch count throughout unisex traditional rectangle shape scarf, which can make a great Christmas knits idea for those of us who love to knit gifts for those in our lives.
The sample I have knitted for this pattern alternates between 2 stitch designs from the original Shawl (one I would say is more delicate and the other more bold), but you can choose to use just one of them if you want and simply repeat that. Also the seed stitch edging, borrowed from my Go With The Flow Wrap, can be replaced with just plain garter stitch if you wish, so it’s easily customized in view of the recipient. And it’s also of course totally unisex!
