A Journey into Sacred Creativity
The Shaman's Palette-Path to Painted Prayer is a yearlong course and immersive monthly experience. The classes are designed for seekers, artists, and visionaries ready to awaken their creative power as a spiritual force. Through intuitive painting, ritual, ancestral connection, magick and elemental wisdom, we will walk the path of painted prayer!
Riding the Rainbow Serpent, the first course in the series, gives a strong foundation in the understanding of color and its energetic uses in art, healing and magick. We will also learn about various myths of the guardian spirits of the rainbow and connect to our own inner palette. A foundation in understanding the color wheel, hue, value, and saturation will be established as well as some traditional drawing techniques. The goal is to create personal connection with the language of color while learning artistic skills and technique to build upon.
We will be incorporating various media: watercolor, pencil, ink, and mixed media.
This course runs for the month of January 2026.
What to expect:
Each week contains five classes-four foundation classes, a live 2 hour Zoom class on Fridays and a challenge assignment for those who wish to dig a bit deeper. Weekly classes include printable lessons and some supplemental videos. The concluding live class will include a creative shamanic journey meditation, ritual and art sharing. A supplies list is included at the beginning of the course.

Meet Your Instructor
Jeanette Smith, known as "Emberstorm" in the magickal community, is the founding Elder of Spiral Sojourn Sanctuary (and served as High Priestess of Spiral Sojourn Coven for eleven years.) She is a shamanic artist who has offered various workshops and classes in both classical and shamanic art over the years. She holds a B.A. in Fine and Studio Arts and is a 3rd Degree Reiki practitioner. But most importantly, she is a teacher who seeks to encourage the Inner Artist in everyone!
