Community Building Bulletin Board
Make Your Bulletin Board Part of Your School Community!
Looking for an easy way to make your classroom, counseling office, or hallway feel more welcoming and connected?
These Community Building Bulletin Board Signs give students a reason to stop, look, laugh, think, and start a conversation. As a school counselor, I use these signs outside my office to give students a reason to come closer, get to know me, learn something new, share a laugh, or start a quick conversation. Over time, students begin to look for the daily sign and rely on it as part of the school environment.
They also work beautifully in middle school classrooms, advisory, homeroom, SEL spaces, counseling offices, student support areas, and school hallways.

WHY TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS LOVE THIS
These aren't just signs to fill an empty bulletin board.
They create small opportunities for connection throughout the school week.
Students may:
• Stop by your office to read the new sign
• Laugh at the joke and bring a friend over
• Ask you about the quote or question
• Share their own answer
• Start a conversation with a teacher
• Debate a Would You Rather question
• Think about a wellness or gratitude prompt
• Learn something new about the adult behind the bulletin board
• Begin recognizing the routine and looking forward to what's next
For counselors, this can be a simple way to make your office feel more approachable and connected to students without requiring another formal counseling activity.
For teachers, the signs can become a quick morning meeting, advisory, bell ringer, SEL, or classroom community routine.
FLEXIBLE FOR YOUR SPACE
You can change the signs:
• Every day
• Every week
• Every quarter
• Every semester
• Every school year
Print them in different sizes depending on your space. Use one large sign as a hallway display or create a rotating bulletin board with several smaller signs.
You can also choose different themes throughout the year so students don't know exactly what they will find when they walk by.

THE BIG IDEA
You don't always need a full lesson to build community.
Sometimes it's a joke.
Sometimes it's a question.
Sometimes it's a ridiculous Would You Rather.
Sometimes it's a quote that makes a student stop for a second.
And sometimes that tiny moment becomes the conversation that helps a student feel a little more connected to the adults and students around them.
Turn your bulletin board into a reason to connect.
PLEASE NOTE
This resource includes the themed bulletin board signs only.
The signs are designed for you to pair with your own content. Jokes, riddles, quotes, affirmations, fun facts, Would You Rather questions, wellness information, gratitude prompts, and other daily content are NOT included.
You choose what to display underneath or alongside each sign based on your students, classroom, counseling setting, and what you want to share that day.
Think of these as your reusable bulletin board headers and signs that give your daily content a consistent, fun theme.
