Triticum aestivum is the Latin name for common wheat, but don’t worry - the Wheat Lace stitch in this elegant sweater won’t add to your gluten intake. With elbow length bell sleeves, sequined yarn, and fringed pearl trim, Dinner at Tiffany’s is elegant enough for any occasion. Wear it with the opening facing the back or the front. The body of the sweater is worked from the bottom up in one piece. The sleeves are worked separately and seamed for stability. The pattern was inspired by and devised in collaboration with my late mother and first knitting instructor, Georgina Steinford, much missed.

Trim: 1” Pearl-beaded fringe (shown: “Pearls & Swags” from decoratingstudio.com), approx 1.5 (2, 2, 2.25)2.5, 2.5, 3 3 yd / 1.5 (1.75, 1.75, 2)2.25, 2.25, 2.5 2.75 m

Notions: One 1/2” / .1.25 cm button (shown: La Mode 9/16” / 13mm, style 48174), yarn needle for weaving in ends, sewing needle, matching thread, stitch markers, size G/6 (4.25 mm) crochet hook.

Skills: Following a stitch pattern, lace, simple crochet.

Notes: Instructions are both written and charted. The sweater is designed to be worn with approx 2” / 5 cm of positive ease.

Sadly, Polaris has been discontinued, but it could be substituted with King Cole Galaxy DK, Universal Yarn Classic Shades Sequins Lite, Artyarns Beaded Silk & Sequins Light, or any DK weight yarn with sequins.
