Halo is a semicircular shawl knit top-down, starting from the neck. It is worked in garter stitch and simple lace, until the more elaborate lace at the edge.
Finished sizes:
Size S shawl will be around 130 cm (51 in) wide and 50 cm (19.5 in) deep.
Size M shawl will be around 146 cm (57.5 in) wide and 60 cm (23.5 in) deep.
Size L shawl will be around 163 cm (64 in) wide and 70 cm (27.5 in) deep.
Yarn:
Laceweight, 700 m/765 yd per 100 g.
For example ColourMart Merino/Silk/Cashmere 2/28NM lace wt (Diamante) (2103 m/2300 yd per 150 g) holding two strands together.
Yardage:
Small: 600 m/650 yd or 85 g.
Medium: 805 m/880 yd or 115 g.
Large: 1050 m/1150 yd or 150 g.
Note: If you are using heavier weight yarn, for example 600 m (656 yd) per 100 g, you will most likely need more than 100 g even for the small size.
Gauge:
19.5 sts and 32 rows per 10 cm in the lace pattern in the body of the shawl, blocked, but gauge is not crucial.
Needles:
3 mm (US 2.5) or the size you need to make gauge.
Other supplies:
A removable stitch marker if you want to mark the right side of the work.
One of the pattern files is in English, the other one is in Finnish.
