Helena Rose Stole

This stole uses two old lace stitch patterns; Rose Trellis for the main body of the stole and a Victorian edging called Vandyke Border. In honour of the Victorian heritage of the stitch patterns I named this stole after one of Queen Victoria’s daughters, Princess Helena.

Suggested Yarn: Watercolours & Lace, BFL Purest Lace (100% Blue Faced Leicester Wool, 800m/100g), Golden Cornfield, 2 (2) skeins

Needles: 4.5mm (US 7) straight, 30cm or circular, 60cm AND 3.75mm (US 5) straight, 30cm or circular, 60cm

Tension: 10cm = 19 sts x 26 rows over Rose Trellis Lace when blocked (with pins in place)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Sizes: Medium: 72 x 208 cm. Large: 72 x 256 cm after blocking
