I made the transition from headteacher to coach over 4 years ago, and I'm loving it. I'm the living proof that this is a transition that's possible!
But it's not without it's challenges and pitfalls, so I've created this resource to help those who are considering making the shift.
In 4 videos, I share with you the most significant things I've learned over the last four years that have helped me survive and thrive as a freelance coach.
It's important to make a decision that helps you live the life you really want and that's aligned with your values. I'm sharing stories, information, and exercises to support your reflection on these big choices.
I recommend that you watch these videos before you start spending money on coach training or accreditation. As I share my experiences and observations, you might want to make some changes or tweaks to your plans.
What's covered in this resource?

Alongside my story, I share resources that have supported me with the choices and decisions I've made.
The resource is made up of 4 videos plus an introduction. The main 4 videos cover the following areas:

- What is coaching and what are the options for training and accreditation?
- Running a successful business and marketing yourself
- Developing and maintaining a coach's mindset
The videos arrive one at a time, with a 7 day interval between each. That's to give you time to digest each bit of information and do your own reflection at each stage, so that you get the maximum benefit from the resource.

I'm Helen Tarokh, and I'm an ILM Level 7 Executive Coach. I aspire to be a 'pure coach', which means I seek to help clients unlock their own resourcefulness rather than providing advice or off-the-shelf solutions.
I was previously a headteacher, the culmination of a 27 year career in teaching.
