This spreadsheet brings your products, suppliers, stock movements and purchase orders together. Log a sale or receive a delivery, and the on-hand count, stock value and status of that product update by themselves. When something drops to its reorder point, it turns amber and goes onto a printable Reorder List with a suggested quantity.

It suits small shops, makers, online sellers, cafes, studios and stockrooms that have outgrown a notebook but don't need a full inventory system.

• A Stock Log for sales, items used in making, returns, damage and count corrections (the movement type decides plus or minus)
• Days of cover and units out over a sales window you choose
• A Check flag for duplicate SKUs, unknown suppliers, stock below zero and sale prices below cost
• A Stock Card that shows one SKU's numbers and history
• A dashboard with 12 live totals, a chart and lists of what needs attention

Works with

Microsoft Excel 2010 or newer (Windows and Mac), Google Sheets (upload, then File > Save as Google Sheets) and LibreOffice Calc. No macros, scripts or add-ons. Not tested in Apple Numbers.

Good to know

• This is a digital download. Nothing will be mailed.
• Numbers carry no currency symbol, so any currency works.
• Stock value is a simple working figure (on hand x unit cost) for running your shop. It is not an accounting or tax valuation.
• It is a spreadsheet, not a point-of-sale system. Sales are logged by hand or pasted in; nothing connects to a till or online store.
