The Long Stick

After approximately fifty IVF attempts, Margaret conceived. If your baby feels out of reach, God may already have laid the answer on your path.

Marianne Margaret was a baker living in New York when she contacted me. She told me she had gone through approximately 50 IVF attempts without having a baby. Margaret flew from New York to spend a day with me at the Healing Centre. We sat together, we cried before God, and we prayed together. Margaret eventually returned to America.

Later came the wonderful news: Margaret had conceived. She subsequently welcomed a baby girl.

My sister, maybe you know what it is to stretch and stretch for something you can see but cannot reach. Every month you hope.

Every month you come down empty-handed. Your friends announce their pregnancies, you smile and say congratulations, and then you go home and cry where nobody can see you. After a while, you stop reaching. You tell yourself, "Maybe this fruit is not for me."

I understand how tiring that is. And I do not want you to stay in that place, standing under the tree, deciding in your heart that what God has for you is too high.

The Long Stick was born beside a fruit tree. The fruit was too high for me to reach. I prayed for God to send me a tall man, so that at least I could get some of the fruit. And as I went, there on my path was a long stick that reached the topmost part of the tree. I got almost half of the tree. God did not send what I asked for. He sent something better.
