Another Kind of Courage | Lìng yī zhǒng yǒngqì

When we first came into this world, we all thought a hero would descend from the heavens to save us from our troubles. We prayed, we called out, and we waited for the perfect answer.

But then we grew up. We discovered that the sky remains the sky, and the stars remain silent.

So we began to understand a truth we learned far too late: We are here not to wait for answers, but to become part of the answer.

This spoken word piece, accompanied by piano, strings, and oboe, is my redefinition of “courage.” It is not a roar, nor is it conquest; rather, it is choosing—even when no one answers—to pick up a stone, then another, to build a world that does not yet exist.

If one day, someone asks, “Where can I feel safe?”

Perhaps we won’t need to look up at the sky anymore; we’ll simply point ahead and say:

“Right here. This is what we’ve built together.”

我们来到这个世界，最初都以为会有英雄从天而降，拯救我们于水火。我们祈祷，我们呼唤，我们等待一个完美的答案。

但后来我们长大了。我们发现，天空依然是天空，星星依然沉默。

于是，我们开始明白一个很晚才懂的道理：我们来到这里，不是为了等待答案，而是为了成为答案的一部分。

这首 Spoken Word 搭配着钢琴、弦乐与双簧管，是我对“勇气”的重新定义。它不是咆哮，不是征服，而是当你发现无人回应时，依然选择拿起一块石头，再拿起另一块，去建造一个还不存在的世界。

如果有一天，有人问：“哪里能让我感到安全？”

也许我们不必再抬头看天，只需指向前方，说：

“就在这里。这是我们一起建造的。”
