Nehemiah Made Simple
Nehemiah -- the cupbearer who wept over rubble: surveying the broken walls by night, rallying a people with trowel and sword, and finishing the impossible in fifty-two days (Nehemiah 1; Nehemiah 4; Nehemiah 6).
Nehemiah Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the book of Nehemiah: the cupbearer's tears in Susa, the night ride around the ruins, every family building the section nearest home, the trowel in one hand and the sword in the other, justice inside the walls, the refusal to come down, the finished wall in fifty-two days, the Law read aloud and the joy of the Lord, the longest prayer in the Bible, and the final plea -- "Remember me, O my God, for good."
Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father, the God of heaven to whom Nehemiah prayed; Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, the greater Nehemiah who came to rebuild what sin broke down; and the Holy Spirit, who alone convicts, empowers, and sets captives free. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Read slowly. Let God show you the walls.
