Arabic letter tracing workbook: a 35-page printable with dotted letters to trace and room to write, one page for each of the 28 Arabic letters. Children trace the dotted letter, trace its forms, trace an example word with a picture, and then write on their own.

On every letter page:

• the letter name in Arabic and English, and a large model letter with two dotted copies to trace
• the letter forms - isolated, initial, medial and final (four rows, or two rows for the six letters that join only to the letter before them: alif, dal, dhal, ra, zay, waw) - each with one model, three dotted copies and two blank guide cells
• an example word with a picture, one solid copy and two dotted copies to trace
• free-writing rows, and a box to tick when the letter is finished

The bilingual English and Arabic instructions let a parent who does not read Arabic yet help. The letters are set by code with an embedded Arabic font, so they join correctly.

Letter pages show a start dot and a direction arrow on 16 of the 28 letters, with no numbered strokes. The workbook does not teach stroke order.

Print tips:

• Print all pages at 100% / "Actual size". Do not choose "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit".
• Use the A4 file for A4 paper and the Letter file for US Letter paper. The content is the same on both.
• Use a pencil, so children can erase and try again. Print only the pages you need, or print a page again for more practice.
• Use the greyscale file if you print in black and white.

Not included:

• No printed or shipped item: this is a digital download.
• No dedicated lessons for short vowel marks (tashkeel), hamza forms, ta marbuta, the lam-alif ligature or numbers. Some example words contain these letters. They appear naturally inside those words, but they are not taught in lessons of their own.
• Start dot and direction arrow on 16 of the 28 letters; no numbered strokes; does not teach stroke order.
• No audio, no pencil-grip training.
