PSHE & Citizenship Values & Identities Pack - Part of the Web of Lives Series
Description: This pack an be used individually or as part of the wider InclusiveEd Ecosystem. The Values & Identity Pack helps students explore who they are, what they believe in, and how those values shape their relationships, choices, and communities. Through relatable scenarios and guided group work, students learn that identities are complex, evolving, and interconnected — and that understanding them builds empathy, resilience, and respect.
Curriculum relevance:
- UK: PSHE (self-identity, respectful relationships, equality, inclusion), Citizenship (rights & responsibilities, community cohesion), Equality Act (protected characteristics).
- US: SEL (self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills), Health Education (identity inclusion, respect), Civics/Advisory programs.
How to use:
- Group discussions: Mix cards to highlight different values and identities, encouraging students to notice similarities and differences.
- Circle time: Read scenarios aloud and invite students to reflect silently, then share collectively.
- Comparative analysis: Explore how different identities face similar struggles (e.g., not being listened to, feeling invisible, being judged).
- Community mapping: Ask groups to consider how values and identities ripple out to affect friendships, families, and wider communities.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise that values guide choices and shape relationships.
- Understand that identities are multifaceted and deserve respect.
- Build empathy by connecting personal experiences (feeling unheard, overlooked, or misjudged) to wider social challenges.
- Develop collective intelligence by learning together, listening deeply, and valuing diverse perspectives.
- Reflect on how actions and inactions affect others, and how communities can be strengthened through inclusion.
Fit with the Web of Lives Series: This pack is a cornerstone of the Web of Lives approach, which uses real-life resonance to build empathy and resilience. It pairs naturally with:
- Bullying & Online Safety Pack – exploring how identity and values are challenged in peer and digital spaces.
- Protected Characteristics Pack – connecting identity to legal equality and shared human struggles.
- Resilience & Reflection Pack – helping students turn identity challenges into strengths and coping strategies.
Together, these packs create a whole-school approach to inclusion, empathy, and wellbeing, making the Values & Identity Pack an essential starting point for teachers who want to build a culture of respect and belonging.
