This work originated as a figurative painting depicting a woman in red emerging from the head of a lion, with a single lion's eye fixed on the viewer. In its abstract form, the narrative expands beyond gender, identity, and prescribed symbolism, allowing for a more universal interpretation.

At its core, Sacred Witness explores the presence of the observer - the aspect of self that remains present throughout every stage of becoming. As we emerge from inherited systems, social conditioning, internal dialogues, and generational patterns, something within us continues to watch.

But what is this witness?

Is it a guide or a guardian?

A protector or a manipulator?

A source of liberation or a cage disguised as familiarity?

The answer may depend on what part of the self is emerging.

Is it awareness, or is it the shadow?

The colors within the work invite further reflection:

Does the red represent courage, wisdom, and determination, or does it symbolize unresolved pain and the continuation of old wounds?

Does the gold signify self-worth, abundance, and inner enrichment, or does it reveal attachment, greed, and the strain of external validation?

Rather than offering answers, Sacred Witness presents questions. It is an exploration of self-awareness, shadow work, and transformation-a meditation on the forces that shape us and the consciousness that observes it all.

The piece invites viewers to examine not only what they are becoming, but also who - or what - is witnessing the journey
