Strum Baby brings back the sound of the classic 1980s electronic chord harp: shimmering strums, warm organ chords and a built-in rhythm box, all in a black retro panel. Press one chord, strum the plate, and you get dreamy, nostalgic harmony right away. It's made for lo-fi, indie, synth-pop, ambient, soundtracks and songwriting.

36 Chord Buttons

There are 12 roots, each in Major (white), Minor (yellow) and 7th (gold). One press gives you a full chord with no theory needed.

Sonic Strum Plate

The plate has 13 strings that follow your chord across four octaves, so every note always fits. You can drag across it for a sweeping strum or tap single strings. Up to 24 string voices can ring at once, so strums overlap and blend naturally.

Sound Controls

Chord Volume, Strum Volume, Sustain and Tone, plus built-in stereo Chorus and Reverb for that hazy vintage shimmer.

Rhythm Section

• 8 analog-style drum patterns: Rock, Pop, Slow, Waltz, Swing, Bossa, Disco and Country
• Auto Bass, which follows your chords
• Start/Stop, a Tempo knob and Sync to your DAW's tempo
• Separate Rhythm and Bass volume, plus a beat light

Chord Memory and Hold

Memory keeps the rhythm section playing your last chord after you let go. Hold sustains the chord so both hands are free to strum.

Play It From Your MIDI Keyboard

CHORDS mode: one key, one chord

• The octave left of middle C (C3–B3) plays Minor chords.
• The middle C octave (C4–B4) plays Major chords.
• The octave right of middle C (C5–B5) plays 7th chords.

Strum with the pitch wheel

Push up for an up-strum and down for a down-strum. The further you push, the more strings ring. Let it spring back and flick again, just like a real strumming hand. The mod wheel sweeps the strings too.

AUTO mode

Play any chord shape and Strum Baby recognises it and strums it for you.

MELODY mode

Every key plays a single note with the selected voice, so you can play leads and melodies. Notes respond to velocity, the pitch wheel bends them, and the sustain pedal holds them.

Presets

There are 60 factory presets in Classic, Dreamy, Bells, Organ, Guitar and Rhythm, plus a User folder. The built-in browser lets you save, import, export and delete your own sounds.

Interface

The window resizes from 50% to 200%, so it fits any screen from a laptop to a 4K monitor.
