Perfect Bench Companion

This book is designed with the novice, like me, in mind. This masterpiece contains all you will ever need to know to begin your journey painting figures. The book is designed to lay flat on your bench which no other guide that I own does. The guide begins with a list of acrylic paints Andy utilizes and goes on from there to clearly describe and illustrate face and hand painting prior to moving on the camo. It's a must have for any novice figure painter. Can't wait for volume 2.

Very useful painting tips and techniques for the figure modeler

The book is designed for the avid figure modeler, able to lie flat on the workbench for ease of reference during the painting session. Tips and techniques are logically arranged in a sequential manner, so as to guide the modeler in finishing his first, or umpteen figure, successfully. This volume also covers the bugbear of most WW2 figure modelers, the painting of German camouflage uniforms. The techniques are laid out in a simple and clearly understandable sequence, with relevant photographs to illustrate the results clearly. Kudos to the author on creating this useful guide for us modelers!
My only nitpick: more step-by-step photos would have been nice. However, I understand that Field Manual 2 has already addressed this point by having more photographs to illustrate each step of the painting process, so all is good!
All in all, a worthwhile purchase and highly recommended for figure modelers seeking to up their painting game.
