Meet the Sugar Seashore Wrap. Sugar because it’s a sweet and breezy project that works up quickly, and seashore because of the origin of the inspirational yarn plus the overall look of netting with a few sparkly shells, aka beads to add some nice weight and drape. This beginner-level Tunisian crochet rectangular wrap represents the convergence of two different ideas about my next pattern:

First, use a cotton yarn from a Local Yarn Store (LYS) that I had visited in Cape Cod (I love yarn tourism) and second, use two vastly different hook sizes (4.5 and 8.0 mm Tunisian, with cable) in the same project. I used fingering weight yarn and a smattering of beads at the end to give those who are interested in a beaded project an easy introduction. The switching between the two hook sizes creates alternating swatches of texture that keep things humming and not tedious!

This project measures gauge using the looser lattice section created with the 8 mm Tunisian crochet hook.

The beads (size 6.0, quantity 108) on both short ends of the wrap are added using a standard 5.5 mm crochet hook.

This pattern has been technical edited and fully tested.
