- Makes calculating winners quick and simple
- Ideal for tech-friendly classrooms
Printable Paper Version
- Easy to distribute
- Requires manual vote counting
- Great for classrooms with limited device access
Both options allow students to thoughtfully nominate classmates while encouraging fairness and inclusion.
Optional Meaningful Introduction:
You may choose to introduce this activity by showing The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (30-minute film available on Apple TV+).
This reflective film highlights themes of belonging, kindness, vulnerability, and the idea that “home” is something we create within ourselves and with the people around us.
It provides a powerful bridge into discussions about:
- The classroom community you built together
- How each student shaped the year
- The importance of recognizing one another’s strengths
While not required, it beautifully frames the awards as a celebration of impact and connection.
How It Works:
1–2 Weeks Before Presentation
- Distribute the Google Form or paper ballot
- Display all student first and last names to ensure accurate voting
- Remind students they may not repeat names and may only vote for themselves once
Before Awards Day
- Review responses
- Determine recipients
- Insert student names into the editable slideshow
Presentation Day
- Present awards using the Google Slides presentation
- Celebrate students in a positive, inclusive way
- Choose your preferred certificate style (color or black & white)
- Duplicate and personalize certificates
- Print or email digital copies to students
Black & white versions are included for teachers who prefer to conserve color ink.

- Encourages positive peer recognition
- Strengthens classroom community
- Highlights student growth and character
