Hey educator? Are you heading towards the interview shortly?

The STAR method is a common technique used during interviews, especially for behavioural interview questions. It stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result, and it provides a framework for structuring your answers in a clear, concise, and impactful way.

Here's a breakdown of what each part of the STAR method entails:

  • Situation: Briefly describe the relevant context or scenario you faced. This could be a challenge you overcame at a previous job, a volunteer experience, or even a personal situation.
  • Task: Explain what your specific goal or responsibility was in that situation. What were you trying to achieve?
  • Action: Be the hero of your story! Detail the specific steps you took to address the situation. Highlight what you did, not what the team or group accomplished.
  • Result: Describe the outcome of your actions. What happened as a result of what you did? Quantify your achievements if possible, and emphasize the positive impact.

By following the STAR method, you can craft compelling answers that showcase your skills, experiences, and problem-solving abilities to interviewers. It helps you provide a clear narrative that demonstrates how you handled a past situation, making your response relevant and insightful.
