Forest Whimsy

A delicate cluster of fairy inkcap mushrooms (Coprinellus disseminatus) peeks out from a tree stump, no larger than a fingernail. These tiny fungi look as though they’ve stepped out of a storybook, adding a touch of whimsy to the forest floor.
