Still Got a Little Rattle

“I came to watch the dancing.

That didn’t last too long.”

First the keys started jingling.

Then the knee took over.

By the time the music settled in,

the chair had lost its occupant.

Still Got a Little Rattle is a joyful invitation to bring that private shoulder roll out where everybody can appreciate it—and remember there are some feelings you never need to outgrow.

“My keys stayed on the table.

The rest of me was gone.”

For the ones who came along “just to watch.”

For the kitchen dancers. For anybody who catches themselves moving and thinks, There I am.

A little rattle.

A little roll.

A familiar joy with somewhere to go.

“I can feel myself come through,

and I like the one I know.”

Leave the keys. Take the floor.
