What can you see in the textured pattern around the leg of these cosy DK (8ply) socks?

Are they mountains and valleys? Are they waves in the sea? Are they life’s ups and downs? They are whatever you want them to be, and being well-travelled doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve headed into the back of beyond with your rucksack. There’s more than one way to travel through life.

The socks are quick to knit and the pattern is easy to memorise. They have a heel flap and gusset; the Ribbed Heel flap is created with slip stitches to give a comfortable, cushioned heel. The pattern is written for four sizes from 8 - 9½ inches (20-24cm) foot circumference.

This pattern can be used on its own or if you need more help, in conjunction with the Winwick Mum Sockalong beginner sock knitting tutorials.

The yarn pictured is West Yorkshire Spinners Wool Revival DK in Sage. These socks can also be knitted in 4ply yarn held double: yarn pictured is West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Spruce with Cobalt as a contrasting yarn for the toes.
