The Lettermore Shawl is named after the village of Lettermore, in County Galway, Ireland, which has a contrasting landscape of rugged coastline, sandy beaches, and clear crystal waters. The name comes from the Irish Leitir Móir meaning great rough hillside. The landscape of Lettermore is sparse and wild—which inspired the Lettermore Shawl.
It’s filled with relaxing stockinette and bands of slipped stitches reminiscent of the rugged hillside, finished with a wide moss stitch border inspired by the rocky shore.
