In the factory school model, children are often pushed to write perfectly 

uniform letters inside heavy, triple-lined paper too early, which can cause hand 

cramps, tears, and a dislike of writing. However, we also have to live in reality:

lined paper is ubiquitous in the modern world. State standards expect neat, 

lined work in your child's portfolio, and adult life requires filling out heavily 

lined forms and applications. Here is the Grammie approach: we do not banish 

lines; we introduce them gradually. We start by building hand strength in the
