CutReady — Simple SVG Geometry Checker & Cleanup (Python Utility)

Inspect simple straight-line SVG geometry and review proposed duplicate-path cleanup locally.

CutReady is a Python source download for technically comfortable users. It produces cleaned SVG geometry, a JSON inspection report and a before/after SVG geometry preview for supported inputs. It is a command-line utility, not a standalone app or cutter driver.

The included fictional square demonstrates a duplicate edge: supported path length changes from 200 mm to 160 mm, with one closed loop. This is a geometry example, not proof of cutting-time savings or a manufactured result.

Check the fit before buying

Python 3.10+ is required; the local workflow was tested on Windows with Python 3.12. No extra pip packages. Supports physical mm/cm/in dimensions with an explicit uniform viewBox and straight line, rectangle, polyline, polygon and M/L/H/V/Z paths. Explicit stroke colors and fill=none are recommended.

Curved paths, styled illustrations and arbitrary SVG artwork are outside the supported scope. Detected unsupported features refuse export; this is not a guarantee that every possible unsupported file is recognized. Output normalizes strokes and paths and does not preserve all visual styling. Optional gap closure is off by default and requires inspection of every change.

Important workflow limits

Use fresh, distinct output names: successful runs can overwrite existing destination files without a backup. Read cleanup_export_status, export_verification and findings in the report; exit 0 alone does not mean cleanup succeeded, and old files may remain after refusal. Preserve originals and inspect every proposed output. The tool makes no network requests, but outputs can contain local paths and private design geometry.

No actual cutting-machine, Cricut or Silhouette workflow has been verified. No machine connection, material advice, guaranteed appearance preservation or fabrication approval is included.

Use and modify for your own internal work and authorized client designs; resale or redistribution of the supplied utility is not permitted.
