Once you start finding suitable funders you want to approach, you’ll need a way to log this information and keep track of it. I’ve attached a template that I created and that I use with all my clients.
Here, as best as possible, we’re going to try to fill in the following:
· Funder
o Name of funder with link to their website or Charity Commission entry
· Types of organisations they support
o Registered charities, CICs, not-for-profits with a turnover below a specific amount.
· Relevant priorities
o Funder's objectives that match yours
· Geographical area
o National, regional, local
· Grant average
o How much do they usually give?
· Deadline
o Grant round closing dates
· How to apply
o Online application/written proposal
· Project fit
o Which of your projects or services is the best fit with the funder's priorities?
· Contact details
o Contact name, email or telephone number
