Christ Alone!

The third Sola of the Great Reformation, Solus Christus, literally means “through Christ alone” describing human salvation as being accomplished exclusively by Christ as opposed to the Roman Catholic idea of the combination of human deeds, church sacraments and divine grace. Jesus’ sinless life, the Reformers proclaimed, and His substitutionary death on the cross were not only sufficient for the sinner’s justification, but the only means for human salvation.
