Commercial License - Juvenile Painted Frogfish
A juvenile yellow painted frogfish typically has a dark body with scattered bright orange spots and ornate blue borders on its fins. It is a small, globular-bodied fish with a large mouth, and it uses its modified first dorsal spine, called the illicium, as a fishing rod to present a lure. While the name suggests yellow, their color can be highly variable and is often dark with spots during the juvenile stage.
