Lily was bored at home when her boyfriend Jake was over for a visit. She started playing with her phone, scrolling through apps. One called "Shrinkster" caught her eye. Intrigued, she downloaded it and opened the app.

"Shrink or enlarge any object or person," the description read. Lily laughed. What a crazy concept. On a whim, she aimed her phone camera at Jake, who was distracted playing video games on the couch. "Shrink!"

Jake suddenly felt a funny sensation, like he was being pulled taut and compressed at the same time. "What the hell?" he exclaimed as the room expanded rapidly around him. In seconds, he had shrunk down to the size of an ant!

Lily giggled, amused by her trick. "You're like a little bug now! This is hilarious!" She plucked tiny Jake off the couch and placed him on the floor, watching him scurry around comically.

Just then, Lily heard the front door open and close. "Lily? I'm home!" called her mom's voice.

Lily's eyes went wide as she looked at miniaturized Jake. "Oh no, quick, hide!" She tried to grab him but in her haste, Jake darted out of the way and scurried towards the kitchen.

Lily's mom Debora traipsed into the kitchen, not noticing the tiny figure on the floor. Debora was a plus-sized woman, easily 300 pounds, packed into a tight pencil skirt and low-cut blouse that strained at the seams. She wore 4 inch high heels, the wooden soles clacking loudly on the tile.

Jake gasped as the imposing figure towered over him, her wide hips and meaty thighs mere inches from his head. The underside of her skirt flared out in a mesmerizing curve. He watched in helpless horror as Debora's foot rose up, the heel poised directly above him.

CRUNCH. Debora's foot came down, the hard sole flattening Jake's tiny body in an instant. His bones snapped like twigs and his innards were squished out in a gory smear, leaving a squashed bug-sized stain on the kitchen floor.

"Oops, I feel like I just stepped on something soft," Debora muttered, peering down. She flicked the miniscule remains of her daughter's boyfriend off the bottom of her shoe with a shrug. "Oh well, probably just a dead roach."

Lily peeked around the corner, her eyes going wide with horror at the bloody smudge that had been Jake moments ago. She clapped a hand over her mouth, stifling a scream. Noticing her daughter, Debora smiled.

"I'm home sweetie! Did you have fun with your little friend?" She winked salaciously and blew a kiss. "Now why don't you clean up whatever I stepped on so we can have dinner together. I'll run a bath and get out of this tight skirt, ugh, I'm sweating like a pig!"

As her mother headed to the bathroom, Lily slowly walked over to the gruesome smear, staring at the red and purple smudge of Jake's remains. Her boyfriend, her love, flattened into nothing by her silly prank and her mother's oafish carelessness.

Tears welled up as she realized what she had done. This was all her fault. Feeling sick, she got the mop and CLEANED up the bloody smudge, trying to erase what had happened.

But she knew she could never erase it from her mind. Jake was dead, and it was all because of her. Because she had foolishly used that dumb app.

As her mother's sing-song voice echoed from the bathroom, Lily collapsed to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably into her hands. What had she done? What had she done?!
