“Crucifixion Aftermath”

In my mind this painting tells the story of the donkey that Yeshua (Jesus) rode into Jerusalem on. A donkey that no man had ever sat. That tells you a lot. Yeshua could clearly talk to animals. It would be a rare donkey indeed that let a human just sit on her without some sort of upheaval. Usually getting an equid to accept weight on their back is a process that can take some time. Anyway the donkey certainly understood who Yeshua was and he was crucified at the hands of men shortly after the ride into Jerusalem. The donkey goes into the desert alone to have a conversation with the creator. Heartbroken she waits for an answer.
