DAYLA CROSSBODY
The Dayla Crossbody is your everyday essential with a touch of elegance and classic style. She has a slim appearance and is designed to be your reliable companion, the one you reach for every day.
All your belongings are safe and organized with a smart front slip pocket under a flap with a turn-lock closure, a secure zipper pocket on the back and a recessed top zipper closure.
The Dayla Crossbody is a medium sized bag. She is easy to carry as a crossbody or shoulder bag with the adjustable shoulder strap.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS
The Dayla Crossbody can be made from heavy weight fabric, vinyl, cork or leather.
For the lining you can choose Water Proof Canvas (WPC) or quilting cotton interfaced with woven interfacing. Depending on your choice of materials and personal preference, you will need to stabilize the exterior pattern pieces with stabilizer that is suitable for your chosen materials. The pattern provides separate stabilizer pattern pieces.

Exterior
- Heavy Weight Fabric, Vinyl or Cork: 29 ½” x 27 ½” (75 x 70 cm) for non directional material
OR
- Leather 3 – 3.5 oz (1.2 – 1.4 mm): 5.5 sq ft
Lining
- Quilting cotton or other light weight fabric: 19 ½” x 55” (50 x 140 cm)
OR
- Pigskin (for raw edge leather flap, see chapter 11): 8” x 6” (20.5 x 15.2 cm)
Interfacing for lining (no need if you use WPC):
- Woven interfacing: Vilene G700 or SF101: 19 ½” x 55” (90 x 140 cm)
Stabilizer:
- Lightweight fleece/foam or leather stabilizer (optional): 29 ½” x 27 ½” (75 x 70 cm)
- Nylon stabilizer tape of 1” (2.5 cm) wide: 12” (30.5 cm) long
- Nylon stabilizer tape of 3/8” (1 cm) wide: 6” (15 cm) long

NOTIONS AND TOOLS
- basic sewing tools and sewing machine
- teflon foot or walking foot, teflon (narrow) zipper foot if working with vinyl or leather
- universal needles or leather needles #16 or #18 (size 100 or 110) depending on your chosen materials
- bonded nylon thread tex 70
- leather glue or contact cement with silicone brush depending on your chosen materials
- fabric glue
- fray check
- Lock Bond or Loctite metal glue (optional)
- 1/8” (3 mm), ¼” (6 mm) and 3/8” (1 cm) DST (double sided tape)
- ruler, craft knife, rotary cutter and/or scissors
- 2.5 mm hole puncher
- silver pen, sharpie, erasable fabric pen and/or chalk to make marks (test on scrap pieces first)
- clips and pins
- skiving knife or electric bell skiver (optional and only for leather)
- seam roller tool or rubber mallet
- duct tape
- scrap pieces of Decovil heavy and Decovil light, or glass fiber tape to reinforce rivets
- Tokonole or edge paint with edge coat roller or awl (optional)
- spray starch (optional)
