We often focus on strategies to help learners infer the meaning of unfamiliar words while reading and, as a result, learners fail to notice useful lexis in reading texts. This is especially true in the case of chunks consisting of familiar words, such as run a risk, a turning point or got caught in traffic. This webinar demonstrates some techniques for drawing students’ attention to lexical chunks in texts and revisiting texts in order to derive maximum learning benefit from them.
