Slipped stitches have an air of magic about them. They allow you to manipulate the colors and textures in your knits without working any complex cables or having to fuss with multiple strands of yarn. That’s why I dubbed this hat “witchcraft”—how else can you explain making that all-over diamond pattern without crossing stitches or carrying unused colors on the inside?
A slightly slouchy beanie that knits up stunningly fast, Witchcraft starts with an extra squishy Fisherman’s Rib brim, then transitions to a playful slipped stitch pattern created with 2 coordinating skeins of The Fiber Seed Sprout DK. Decorative decreases finish off the crown, and it’s topped off with an optional pom (but if you skip the pom, you can get 2 hats out of the 2 skeins of yarn!).
