I love wild, untamed gardens, and when (in “Pride & Prejudice”) Lady Catherine de Bourgh mentions to Lizzy she would like to take a turn around the “prettyish little wilderness” I wanted to design a shawl with that in mind. Not quite a triangle, not quite a crescent, it is a shawl that hugs around your shoulders with rows of flowers and a lace accent.

Size:
53” wide and 17” deep (135cm x 43cm)

Materials:
Yarn: 440yds (402m) of fingering weight yarn
Sample: Palouse Yarn Co - Merino Fine (100% superwash merino) 475 yds (433m)/113g in “Wine Country”
Notions: US 4 (3.5mm) 40” (102cm) circular needle (or needle size required to obtain gauge)
US 7 (4.5 mm) for picot bind off
3 markers; Darning needle; waste yarn for provisional cast on

Gauge:
19 stitches over 36 rows = 4” in St st, on smaller needles, gently blocked.
Gauge is not critical, but will affect size and yarn amounts needed.
