CAST CHANGE: PLASTER TO BAREFOOT TO FIBER

This young man comes to an Austrian hospital for a check-up and a cast change.

He first crutches from the car to the entrance. There was a queue at registration so he had to wait. We stand behind and next to him and can admire the cast on his right foot. The cast is made of plaster and is also almost completely wrapped with a white fiberglass bandage. You can only clearly see from the upper corner of the calf that the cast is actually made of plaster of paris. His toes are free and are not supported by any toe plate. He wears a black cast shoe under the cast, but he doesn't use it to walk. He is only on crutches.

When he arrives in the waiting room, he is immediately called into the plaster room and his cast is first removed. Then he goes straight to get an X-ray. Here we see the bare foot and lower leg. A tattoo adorns his calf.

We see him again later when he received a circular fiber cast, which is probably actually intended as a walking cast. But even on the way back to the car he doesn't put any weight on his foot.
