On a chilling night in NYC, I found myself standing over the lifeless body of a young man, his face tinged with an eerie blue hue and adorned with a peculiar mask. By day, I am a judge, but as the sun sets, I transform into a private eye, navigating the labyrinthine streets of this restless city.

At sixty-something years old, I've seen it all. My partner, Marlowe, a sharp young mind, and I had everyone in the city buzzing about this death—aliens, drugs, you name it. But amidst the chatter, I trusted my instincts. Witnesses hinted at trouble, possibly a psychotic killer or even a mobster. The mask on the young man was adorned with strange symbols, a message or a warning, but for whom?

Some say time is a virtue, but in our case, time is ticking like a bomb. How much time do we have before the next victim appears with a mask on him? We have to work fast, which we can do because nothing escapes the most prominent judge in the city.

I am Detective Campbell, and complex cases are my specialty and playground. I thrive in the difficulty of the unknown.
