Pronounced “chee gong”, Qigong is an easy to use, ancient Chinese self-practice that rebalances body, mind and spirit.
“Qi” means life force, breath, energy, consciousness and the essence behind all living things. “Gong” roughly translates as cultivation, skill, practice, mastery. So “Qigong” is a way of working with the energy of life.
Qi flows through the body’s energy channels and meridians, connecting us with the energy of the universe. Through our own qi pathways, we can use Qigong to plug directly into the life force that runs our bodies and the entire universe.
When qi is flowing smoothly, we are healthy. When the flow of qi is blocked or out of balance, energy throughout the body can stagnate or be impeded, causing dysfunction in organs and systems.
Through physical movement, meditation, and focused breathing, Qigong promotes smooth flow of energy throughout the body, encouraging harmony of body mind and soul, reducing stress and improving energy levels.
