Support to overcome phagophobia

Phagophobia refers to a fear of swallowing.

This online course aims to support individuals who are experiencing symptoms of dysphagia, due to a fear of swallowing, by providing education and strategies to overcome this condition.

What to expect?

Phagophobia expert Katie created this online course after she experienced phagophobia and managed to successfully overcome the condition.

In this course you will be educated on the swallowing mechanism and strategies that Katie implemented in order to overcome the difficulties she experienced, through a series of pre-recorded videos that you can access in your own time.

There is also the option to work more closely with Katie via remote live sessions and Voxer as part of her Support to Overcome Phagophobia programme. This programme is not for individuals who are experiencing dysphagia due to a physiological reason such as a structural abnormality or neurological cause. A full swallow assessment and /or clearance by a speech and language therapist or doctor is advised prior to completing this programme.
