Restoring "JOY" Prayer Journal
This Prayer Journal was inspired by my first encounter with Jesus and the journey thereafter to restore joy. The name of the prayer journal was derived from my early childhood experiences in the "Joy" Room, which was located down a dirt road in my neighborhood. I accepted the Jesus and experienced the Holy Spirit in that one-room modest building. I grew up in a traditional denominational church, but a couple in that church was directed of God to create a local ministry. The two prepared a small one-room dwelling and named it "The Joy Room". This unpainted one room tiny, detached wood structure was located parallel to their home. Just to add further perspective, there were cracks in the walls and floor. The room was furnished with only a small wood stove, three-piece homemade benches, and a single white ceiling bulb used to provide lighting to the room. The pulpit was also homemade and unfinished and one of the seats was used as a "Mourner's Bench", prayers, and alter calls. I was recent question about the beginning of my spiritual walk prompted a flood of untapped memories that God is using to restore my joy. A joy that was lost during the journey of life. John 10:10 says, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Through this exploration I am restoring the joy of my salvation.
