Installment 20 of Finding the Names, Volume One — 352 more entries transcribed name by name from the original New Orleans ship manifests at the National Archives (Microfilm M1895, Roll 3, images 241–360). 116 pages, large print. FREE — please share it so families can find their people.

Papote, 42, never arrived. The brig Orion's captain told the inspector she "died of Grief, in consequence of being separated from her husband" — and the inspector wrote it down. These pages also hold Lucy Boyer, 45, who shipped herself and her children from Baltimore ("Lucy Boyer for Herself & Children — Shipper"), the form rewritten by hand to say they were free; Peter, certified by the Charleston Custom House as "not shipped" — and endorsed "Landed" at New Orleans anyway; John, 28, who deserted at Charleston before the Miller sailed; the Emerald's thirty, one of whom died on the passage and is named nowhere; and the Gazelle's 105 from Richmond, including David, entered only as "8 months old."

Counting this installment, the Finding the Names project has recovered 11,197 entries from the New Orleans manifests, every one free. The companion guide and the Complete Set (Installments 1–20 in one download) are also free in this store.
