Hezekiah Made Simple

Hezekiah -- his finest hours: spreading Sennacherib's letter before the Lord, prayer on his deathbed, and a God who answers and adds fifteen years (2 Kings 18:17-19:37; 20:1-11).

Hezekiah Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the reign of Judah's praying king: the trust that broke idols, the tribute that failed, the Rabshakeh's blasphemy on the wall, the torn clothes and the prophet, Isaiah's "be not afraid," the letter spread before the Lord, the answer from heaven, the night the angel went out, the deathbed prayer and its fifteen added years, the Babylonian visit, and a legacy of doing it with all his heart.

Explicitly Trinitarian: God the Father who hears and defends His people; Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior, the greater King who was besieged, prayed, and delivered us; and the Holy Spirit, who teaches us to pray and who alone brings deliverance, never willpower. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.

Read one chapter a day. Come honest. Read slowly. Pray openly.
