Taylor Twist (Swift) Dress | Crochet Pattern

The Taylor Twist Dress is inspired by Taylor Swift her crochet dress, which was clearly inspired by the 70s. I decided to give my own spin (or shall I say twist?) to the dress with a flared body, shoulder shaping and with key-hole back for easy wear.

The Taylor Twist Dress is worked flat in pieces. First we work the front sideways and then the back piece. Next we make two mirrored sleeves. All the pieces are seamed together after which we crochet a scalloped edge around the sleeve cuffs. Lasly we finish the neckline with either a knitted I-cord or crochet.

4.5 mm | US 7 | UK 7 crochet hook

4 mm | US 6 circular knitting needles (60/80/100 cm long)

Sizing

(XXS, XS) S, M, L (XL, 2XL, 3XL) 4XL, 5XL

Recommended for chest circumference of

(70, 80) 90, 100, 110 (120, 130, 140) 150, 160 cm or

(27.5, 31.5) 35.5, 39.5, 43.5 (47.5, 51.5, 55.5) 59.5, 63.5 inch.

For a finished chest circumference of

(91, 100) 109, 118, 127 (136, 145, 154) 163, 172 cm or

(35.75, 39.5) 43, 46.5, 50 (53.5, 57, 60.5) 64, 67.75 inch.

This garment is intended to be worn with approximately 10-20 cm | 4-8 inch of positive ease. There is hip shaping in the pattern for those who wish it.

Materials

Either cotton, merino, wool, acrylic. Keep in mind that cotton will be heavier. If making a larger size we suggest a blown yarn for example Drops Air to reduce the weight of the garment.

For this pattern we use fingering weight held double.

Keep in mind you will need double the amount if following the suggested meterage.

Brown (B)

Purple (P) and white (W) each
