This bulky-knit hat uses a simple repeating slip-stitch pattern that enhances the beautiful color of variegated yarn. The slipped stitches are crossed every few rounds, creating long strands of yarn that highlight the variegation. The pattern begins with a mistake-rib pattern that seamlessly flows into the slip-stitch design and, when the body of the hat is complete, stitches are quickly decreased to create a gathered crown.

The pattern also includes a video tutorial that explains the knitting process and a complete walk-through of the pattern.
