The Swan for bass clarinet and piano
Camille Saint-Saëns was a French composer of the Romantic era known for his elegant and expressive music, and one of his most famous pieces is "The Swan" from "Carnival of the Animals." This movement features a lyrical, flowing melody originally played by the cello, accompanied by rippling piano arpeggios that suggest the gentle movement of water.
This arrangement has been modified to accommodate the bass clarinet. More ambitious performers may opt to play the arrangement an octave higher to match the original cello range. Also available from "Carnival of the Animals:" "The Elephant" for bass clarinet and piano.
