To choose the best fit, measure the circumference of the recipient’s chest and add 0 in / 0 cm or 2 in / 5 cm. Choose the finished circumference closest to this measurement, considering the best fit for your child. Because this sweater has minimal positive ease, considering sizing up if between sizes and adjusting body and sleeve length as needed. See schematics for finished measurements and sizing tips.

Yarn Requirements

250, 305, 340 (385, 425, 480) 555, 665, 755, 855 yds / 230, 280, 310 (350, 385, 435) 505, 605, 685, 780 m total, fingering weight yarn. Includes yds/m needed for gauge swatch.

Sample knit in Knit Picks Stroll ($$), 231 yards/50 grams, 75% merino superwash wool and 25% nylon. Similar yarns include: Rico Designs Sockenwolle ($), Regia 4-ply ($$), Hobbii Unicorn ($$$), Woolberry Fiber Co. Berry Sock ($$$$).

Suggested Needles

Main Fabric: US 4 (3.5mm) preferred needles for knitting in the round, or needle size used to meet gauge 

Ribbing: US 2.5 (3mm) preferred needles for knitting in the round

Extras: Stitch markers, scrap yarn, tapestry needle, cable needle

Gauge

28 stitches & 36 rounds = 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette stitch, in the round, on larger needles after blocking
