In this Bunny Grid Drawing Art Lesson, students recreate a realistic bunny using the classic grid drawing method. They copy a photograph of a bunny in a garden one square at a time, which helps them slow down, observe carefully, understand proportion and draw with more accuracy.

Students then erase the grid lines and shade and color their drawing with pencil crayons, adding depth, texture and realistic fur. The finished piece is a detailed bunny portrait surrounded by spring flowers, a good fit for Easter and spring art in upper elementary and middle school.
